From the 18th CPC National Congress through the end of 2013, 20 provincial- and ministerial-level officials were publicly announced to have been investigated; in 2014, 39 provincial- and ministerial-level and higher officials were publicly announced to have been investigated; and in 2015, 29 provincial- and ministerial-level officials were publicly announced to have been investigated.<\/span>Name;<\/span> The following military officers at the military-level rank or above were announced to have been investigated and disciplined following the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China:<\/span>45.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

According to statistics compiled from public reports, 16 provincial- and ministerial-level officials who have fallen from grace since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China have now been sentenced.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tAs can be seen from the data above, since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, China\u2019s anti-corruption efforts have remained in<\/span>\u201cA \u201dhigh-pressure deterrence\" posture. Looking back at 2014<\/span>Mid-Year Roundup of Annual Anti-Corruption Efforts Released by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection<\/span>\u201cReport Card\u201d: Zhou Yongkang\u2019s Downfall Came as a Shock to Many, and... <\/span>\u591a<\/span>\u201cThe downfall of the \u201dbig tigers\u201d was unexpected, yet entirely understandable. The report shows that cases involving 68 officials under the direct jurisdiction of the Central Committee have either been concluded or are currently under investigation: 30 individuals, including Zhou Yongkang, Jiang Jiemin, Li Dongsheng, Li Chongxi, and Shen Weichen, have been transferred to judicial authorities for handling in accordance with the law on suspicion of criminal offenses; Ling Jihua, Su Rong, and others are under investigation; Liu Tienan, former deputy director of the National Development and Reform Commission and former director of the National Energy Administration, was sentenced to life imprisonment for bribery.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

In 2013, General Secretary Xi Jinping proposed the Belt and Road Initiative (the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road). Over the past five years, more than 100 countries and international organizations worldwide have actively supported and participated in the development of the \u201dBelt and Road.\u201c A number of major projects, including the Jakarta\u2013Bandung High-Speed Railway, the China\u2013Laos Railway, the Addis Ababa\u2013Djibouti Railway, the Hungary\u2013Serbia Railway, Gwadar Port, and the Port of Piraeus, are currently under construction; Total trade among countries along the \u201dBelt and Road\u201c route has exceeded $3 trillion, and 56 economic and trade cooperation zones in more than 20 countries have generated $1.1 billion in tax revenue and created 180,000 jobs for the relevant nations. On May 14\u201315 of this year, the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation was held in Beijing, attended by 30 heads of state and representatives from more than 100 countries. The forum resulted in 76 major agreements and more than 270 specific projects, The People\u2019s Daily published a list of outcomes, marking the transition of the \u201dBelt and Road\u201c initiative from its initial launch to a new phase of vigorous development.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe significance of the \u201dBelt and Road\u201c Initiative: First, it can effectively promote the prosperity of countries and regions along the route, while also expanding China\u2019s scope for opening up to the outside world. After more than 30 years of rapid development, China has both the need and the capacity to export capital, production capacity, and technology; through the \u201dBelt and Road\u201c Initiative\u2019s principles of consultation, joint contribution, and shared benefits, a win-win situation will inevitably emerge. Second, China has more than 20 land and maritime neighbors and a vast geopolitical region. Launching the \u201dBelt and Road\u201c from neighboring regions serves as a crucial foundation for building a strategy of regional peace and development, thereby creating a more favorable environment for China\u2019s development. Third, the fundamental philosophy of the \u201dBelt and Road\u201c initiative is to build a community with a shared future for mankind. By helping underdeveloped regions in Asia, Europe, and Africa bridge their development gaps and create a situation of shared prosperity through the \u201dBelt and Road\u201c initiative, China stands in stark contrast to certain nations that, at the expense of others, seek to make themselves \u201dgreater\u201c\u2014a stance that places China on the moral high ground.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n
